Blokus is a famous family board game where players try to fill the board with as many of their colors as possible. I choose to rebuild this game as a Java program to further enhance my understanding in the language as well as the concept of Object Oriented Programming. The project lasted for 5 weeks and the work was split between two other members and myself. Since this is a Software Engineering class, the process was carried out using various coding technique such as scrumming and Agile.
PEARRS was an ambitious project that I worked on with external stakeholders from the University Of Vermont Medial Center. The project’s goal was to create a mobile-friendly application that can run on Android and send out daily survey to monitor patients’ drinking habits. PEARRS will collect the data and send it to a protected server, where the hospital will run an analysis and send out the result to designated doctors. I utilize my knowledge in Java and Android Studio to create the app with both front-end and back-end capabilities. The back-end of the system is PHP and MySQL. Click here to check out an interview with me and my teammate showcasing the app in depth.
